The Moon: A tribute to the spirit of Apollo
Our Moon gave light to our most distant ancestors, was tracked and calculated by the ancients, has been personified in Gods and Godesses, and been the inspiraton for songs and poems. Even when storytellers create alternate worlds and fantasy realms where all else is wondrous and bizarre, time and again they leave our familar Moon in the sky.
In this presentation we've tried to capture the feeling of excitement, optimism and awe that marked the Apollo era. We've deliberately left out some of the more iconic moments and phrases that get used in most other Moon presentations, especially the now disputed "one small step for (a) man" sequence. Instead we've concentrated on less well-known images and audio to recreate the feeling of fresh wonder.
